new home for the cornerhouse

The Cornerhouse, 70 Oxford Street, Manchester M1 5NH has been a cornerstone of the arts and cultures in Manchester since its opening in 1985. Founded by the Greater Manchester Visual Arts Trust in the aforementioned year, it is an international centre for contemporary visual arts and independent film, and has been at the forefront of Manchester’s vibrant cultural scene since its founding. It’s three floors of contemporary art, cinema, food, drink and literature and draws in over 500,000 visitors each year and is honoured to count Danny Boyle, Helen Mirren and Damien Hirst as its patrons. If you have ever visited the Cornerhouse you will know the building in which it is situated is modest in relation to all the fantastic exhibitions and events they hold.

In 2015 the Cornerhouse will be relocated to its twenty five million pounds newly built home on First Street opposite Manchester’s eponymous former Hacienda Club. The currently unnamed venue is part of the regeneration of an unloved corner of the city centre which is due to become the cultural heart of Manchester thanks to the Cornerhouse’s move. Accompanying the Cornerhouse will be a new luxury four star hotel, a five hundred seat theatre and a restaurant, First Street, M15 4FN is set to become a very exclusive corner of the city, perfect for an evening with an Exclusive Company Manchester escort. The relocation from its much loved home on Oxford Road has caused outcry from some, but in retrospect should be seen as a much welcome addition to Manchester’s recent upsurge in regeneration and development which is placing the city firmly on the map and on level pegging with London.

The Cornerhouse are now hosting their concluding exhibitions that bid farewell to the building and pays homage to the momentous legacy that they have created at their Oxford road home. One rather interesting exhibition is The Society of the Spectacles, a photography project that looks into the design and meaning behind modern spectacles and how they change the way we look and are looked at. Over the past decade spectacles have become a fashion statement, they are no longer the attire of Geeks, they have become chic and a fashion statement, giving identity to the person who wears them. They have also become very sexy, as I am told by Exclusive Company Manchester escorts, gentlemen sometimes request a lady to wear her spectacles on their date, they find a beautiful well educated woman in a sexy little black dress, stiletto heels and designer spectacles extremely sexy. When she removes them, they know what’s coming next!
